Frequently Asked Questions

Recovery Timeline Questions

How long should I wear my Stage 1 Faja?
Stage 1 fajas are typically worn for the first 2-6 weeks post-surgery, depending on your surgeon's recommendations. They provide maximum compression to reduce swelling and support healing during the critical early recovery phase.

When do I transition from Stage 1 to Stage 2?
Most patients transition to Stage 2 fajas around 4-6 weeks post-op, once initial swelling has decreased and incisions have healed. Always consult with your surgeon before switching stages.

How long should I wear my Stage 2 Faja?
Stage 2 fajas are typically worn for 6-12 weeks (or longer) after transitioning from Stage 1. They provide moderate compression to continue shaping and supporting your results as you heal.

How many hours per day should I wear my faja?
Most surgeons recommend wearing your faja 23 hours per day during Stage 1, removing only for showering. During Stage 2, you may reduce to 12-18 hours per day as directed by your surgeon.

Product Care Questions

How do I wash my faja?
Hand wash your faja in cold water with mild detergent. Avoid bleach and fabric softeners. Gently squeeze out excess water (do not wring) and lay flat or hang to air dry. Never put your faja in the dryer as heat can damage the compression fibers.

How often should I wash my faja?
We recommend washing your faja every 2-3 days, or daily if you're experiencing heavy drainage. Having 2-3 fajas allows you to rotate while one is being washed.

How do I clean my foam boards?
Wipe foam boards with a damp cloth and mild soap. Allow to air dry completely before use. Do not submerge in water or machine wash.

How do I care for my BBL pillow?
Wipe down your BBL pillow with a damp cloth and mild soap as needed. Allow to air dry completely before use.

Product Usage Questions

What are foam boards used for?
Foam boards (also called ab boards or lipo boards) are placed over treated areas under your faja to provide targeted compression, prevent fluid buildup, and help achieve smooth, even results. They're especially important for liposuction areas.

How long should I use foam boards?
Foam boards are typically used throughout Stage 1 and Stage 2 recovery (6-12 weeks total), or as recommended by your surgeon. They help prevent fibrosis and ensure optimal contouring.

When should I use a BBL pillow?
BBL pillows should be used immediately after Brazilian Butt Lift surgery to keep pressure off your newly transferred fat cells. Use when sitting for the first 2-8 weeks post-op, or as directed by your surgeon.

Can I sleep in my faja?
Yes, you should sleep in your faja during the initial recovery period. Stage 1 fajas are designed for 24/7 wear (except when showering). Your surgeon will let you know when you can reduce wearing time.

Sizing & Fit Questions

How do I know if my faja fits correctly?
Your faja should feel snug and provide firm compression without cutting off circulation or causing severe discomfort. You should be able to breathe normally. If you experience numbness, tingling, or difficulty breathing, it may be too tight.

Will my faja size change during recovery?
Yes, as swelling decreases, your faja may feel looser. This is normal. Some patients size down when transitioning to Stage 2. We offer free sizing consultations to help you find the right fit at each stage.
